What Is A Breast Surgery And What Is It Used For ?

Procedure
In general, the surgery is performed under general anesthesia and lasts between two to four hours, depending on the type of mamoplasty being performed.
For breast augmentation, a small incision is made in the breast area to insert a prosthesis behind the pectoral muscle or behind the mammary glands. The incision is closed with sutures and covered with bandages or a special bra. In the case of breast reduction, an incision is made around the areola and down the bottom of the breast, excess tissue is removed, and the position of the nipple is adjusted. After surgery, drainage tubes are placed to remove excess fluid and the area is covered with bandages.
Post-operative and Recovery
It is common to experience pain, swelling, and bruising after surgery, which can be controlled with medication prescribed by the plastic surgeon. In addition, it is recommended to avoid lifting heavy objects and engaging in strenuous activities for several weeks after surgery to allow for proper recovery.
